Motor Susan Options

I wanted to provide the motorized lazy susans with as much versatiliy as possible. With that concept in mind, you have a variety of remote control and on-board power options that can be added. These will be explained in detail on this page.

PWRPRT
On-board power port
 120AC   10 Amps       $109

BASRMT
Basic Remote Controller        Radio 100 foot range       $39

DELRMT
Deluxe Remote Controller        Dual Power Ports     $189

Basic Remote Controller

This is a very simple, basic remote control. It enables you to turn your lazy susan on or off. It’s handy in that it’s radio controlled instead of  line-of-sight. That means it works right through walls. It has a 100 foot range. It’s easy to install. All you do is plug your lazy susan into the reciever, and plug the reciever into any wall outlet. Batteries are included.

Deluxe Remote Controller

The deluxe controller is quite a bit more sophisticated, and only available with the super sized susans.  We have adapted a Universal ceiling fan remote and reciever/driver for our purposes. We will be utilizing 4 of the 6 functions. Here are the features:

Radio controlled
100 foot range
Two 120 AC power ports
Separate control of each power port
Infinite Dimmer control
Light port drives up to 300 watts
Motor port delivers 1.5 Amps
Batteries included

The reciever/driver is installed internally in the susan, so all the wiring is done for you.

On-board Power Ports

The unique thing about the on-board power outlets is the rotary power coupling system. The heavy duty slip rings and contact brushes are rated at 10 Amps.

Here is where things might get a little confusing.

You can order just one power port for your supersized susan without any                remote controlls.

You can order the Basic Remote Control without any power ports for either               the standard or the supersized style of susan

You can order a single power port and the basic remote together.

If you order the Deluxe Controller, you automatically get two ports

Again, the power ports are only available on the supersized susans.

Here is a view from the bottom showing the standard 120 ac wall outlet on a single power port installation.

Below we see some detail of the slip ring assemply

Below we see detail of the drive motor, contact brushes and the reciever/driver for the Deluxe remote control and the two on-board power ports.

Here we see the cooling fan tucked in behind the brush assembly.

Below we see the two seperately controlled power ports available with the deluxe controller. One is designed for an on-board motor driven device. The susan drive and cooling fan motors are hooked to this circuit. The other is designed to drive a light source of up to 300 Watts. This port  has immediate on/off capability, as well as infinite dimming control. This means that instead of simply low, medium and high settings, you have control for any light level between on and off.

I think I’ve covered about all the different options and their combinations. If you’re still confused, just email me and I’ll be happy to answer any of your  questions.
